We are a parish with a rich tradition of prayer and service. For Almost 150 years, our parish has grown from a little country church to a vibrant parish that is deeply rooted in the Sacraments and living out the Word. We are located in Union, Missouri, the seat of Franklin County; we are a community with a population around 11,000 that is composed of farming, manufacturing, and small businesses.  It s common to see multiple generations of families living and working in the community. At Mass, several generations within a family will come to pray regularly. Many young people who move away for college or work often find themselves returning to build their families in this small community.

Our parish is diverse in its economic and social makeup; it is never lacking in its spirit of charity and willingness to lend a hand. The parishioners of Immaculate Conception give generously of their time, talent, and treasure. Celebrating daily Mass is the life-source of our parish’s commitment to the community. We also have various devotions such as, weekly Adoration, praying the Rosary daily, Perpetual Help Devotions, Novenas, and special Advent Prayer and Reflection on the Sundays of Advent. Our school children pray together on multiple occasions throughout their day, fostering a devotion and invocation of our Blessed Mother’s intercession. The stewardship of the parish is strong in our commitment to those in need within our parish and the surrounding community. Our St. Vincent de Paul Society provides utility assistance throughout the year. Our parish school and fellow parishioners have regular collections of money and food for the local food bank in Union. Supporting the parish in time and talent is a huge part of keeping our operating costs low and more importantly fostering ownership of the parish as a central part of our lives.

We have three aspects of Catholic Education; our parish school, our parish school of religion (PSR), and home-school families. Our parish grade school offers a Preschool through 8th-grade education. We have a strong accredited pre-school program. Our PSR program assists those kids in developing and maintaining their faith lives while they attend public school. We have a strong presence of families who homeschool their children, who are very active in the sacramental and social life of the parish. Our parish is blessed to have this diverse and committed support of Catholic Education.
